Recovery Weeks Are Necessary

It was a recovery week for me. While I at times tried to fight it since I had already rested part of last week because I didn’t feel well, I know it was necessary and the right choice.
My body needed the rest and gentler movement. I still got plenty of steps, Pilates classes, and mobility work.
I feel ready and excited to start a slightly modified lifting program on Monday.
Rest is nonnegotiable. We need rest every day, at least one rest day every week, and longer periods (about a week) where we back off from more intense workouts several times a year.
